CGIAR-CSI GeoSpatial Science Meeting and Planning Workshop
CGIAR Consortium for Spatial Information
(Nairobi, Kenya, 17th – 21st of October 2005)

The Geospatial Science Meeting highlights the important role of geospatial applications to further the CGIAR mission, to consolidate and promote the geospatial Community of Practice, to develop strong networks and opportunities for collaboration, and to bring together scientists to share their ideas and work. In addition, a two-day workshop was held to identify future directions, and elaborate opportunities to further the work and mission of the CGIAR-CSI.

Objectives of the Workshop

• Coordination of CSI - ICT-KM activities.
• Discuss recent advances within CGIAR’s GeoSpatial community
• Enhance knowledge transfer and provide an opportunity to share ideas among the CGIAR, UN agencies and NGOs
• Planning and strategy development for medium and long term strategy of CSI – ICT-KM activities
• Develop mechanisms that will elevate and sustain the CGIAR-CSI

Venue

The meeting was held at the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) in Nairobi, Kenya from the 17th to the 21st of October 2005
